Arsene Wenger is set to flex Arsenal’s financial muscles by spending heavily on three world class players in the summer transfer window. Wenger is said to have made singing a new right-back, a striker and a central-midfielder as his main priority in the summer (Source: Daily Mail).
Arsenal’s right-back, Bacary Sagna, whose contract expires in the summer, has his heart set on a move away from the Emirates after lucrative offers from Paris St Germain and Monaco. The 30-year old is understood to be disappointed at his wage package, considering his unwavering loyalty that has seen him reject a move to Manchester city, despite seeing the likes of Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie jump ship. Although Wenger has Carl Jenkinson in reserve, the French man wants a world class replacement and as such, has his sights set on Borussia Dortmund right-back Lukasz Piszczek.
With Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner being the only strikers at his disposal, Wenger is keen on making a renewed bid to sign Shalke talisman Julian Draxler in the summer after failing to secure his signature last month. Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa also feature in Wenger’s strikers’ hit list.
With Arsenal’s mid-field ridiculed with injuries this season, The Gaffer is hoping to beat Manchester United in signing Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich in the summer, as he looks to end their mid-field woes. If all these plans are to materialize, The Gunners will for sure become ‘Indomitable’ in both the Premier League and Champions League.
