After a 2-2 draw against The Saints in the past week, The Gunners sealed all 3 points at the Emirates as they beat The Eagles 2-0 on the last EPL game of the weekend. Although Arsenal dominated possession for the most part of the first half, they struggled to break down the Crystal Palace defense. True to the saying “Wenger knows best”, the North London giants came back to score after only two minutes into the second half.

Santi Cazorla provided a superb ball through to Oxlade-Chamberlain who had made the run into the box. The ‘Ox’ lifted it over Speroni and with Arsenal the lead, much to the joy of Wenger on the sidelines. Fancy little bit of play between Rosicky, Giroud and Oxlade-Chamberlain led to the Ox making a solo run before driving home the shot which proved too strong for Speroni in the 72nd minute. With that, The Gunner sat on a 2-0 advantage over Palace and held onto the lead till the final whistle.

The win makes Arsenal move on top of the premier league table with 55 points but only for the next 24hours. This is because title favourites Manchester City and Chelsea face off on Monday night. A win for City will guarantee them a spot on top the premier league table with 56 points. A win for Mourinho’s boys will make them tied with City on 53 points however The Citizens will be in second place due to goal difference. A draw would mean Arsenal will still be league leaders with 55 points closely followed by Manchester City with 54 points and Chelsea with 51 points to sum up the top three.
