Juventus look set to make a last ditch attempt to take United’s out of favour winger, Nani, on a loan deal, with a view to making the move permanent at the end of the season.

With the arrival of Mata, the emergence of Januzaj, as well as the current form of Ashley Young, it would appear that there is no real future for Nani under Moyes.

Fleeting
He has made just 8 appearances this season and despite being injured for 2 months, has fallen well down the pecking order. Sporting Lisbon expressed an interest in taking the player back to Portugal, however, Juve have emerged as the front-runners, with an apparent sweetener in the shape of 19 year old starlet Domenico Berardi being offered plus cash, once the season is done.

Clearout
As well as trying to bolster the squad during January, Moyes has put a priority on clearing out much of the ‘dead wood’ he inherited from Sir Alex. Kagawa is also tipped to leave at the end of the season, as well as Rio Ferdinand, Evra and Giggs (who will undoubtedly call time on his illustrious career).

Zaha looks set to complete a loan move to Cardiff to join Fabio, and Anderson has already joined up with Fiorentina. There are question marks over whether Vidic will continue at Old Trafford once the season is out, he has too often looked slightly off the pace this year and also looks set to lose the captaincy as part of a new deal to keep Rooney at the club.

Stream Lining
In trying to cut some of the rough edges out of his squad, Moyes will perhaps be able to focus on trying to accommodate some of the best attacking talent in the Premiership within the same team. Much has been made of the selection headache he faces in the upcoming games, in trying to find a way for Mata, RVP, Rooney and Januzaj to play in the same team.

With Ashley Young and Valencia also looking OK right now, it should be interesting to see if he can find a solution that involves as many attacking players as possible.

In the meantime, it seems certain that Nani will not be part of the selection process. The player has flattered to deceive so often during his time at Old Trafford. Undoubtedly a fantastic footballer, he has too often been wasteful in possession and forgetful of his defensive duties.

That said, he was the player of the season in 2010 and few could forget his single handed destruction of Arsenal at the Emirates that year, as United won 3-1 in the wake of losing Ronaldo and Tevez.

As much as Nani will be missed more than Anderson, the two players who arrived together with such high expectations haven’t exactly been complete success stories. It would appear that Moyes has run out of patience with Nani and would happily off load the player on loan. According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Juve are very hopeful of completing a switch in the next 2 days….
