The second leg of the France vs Ukraine World Cup qualifiers ended in a 3-0 win for the home team, giving France the last UEFA Brazil 2014 ticket.  The game was played in an outstanding atmosphere, a match that will undoubtedly go into the history textbooks of French soccer.  While Ukraine had won in the first leg 2-0, France needed to win 3-0 or 4-1 to qualify directly into next year’s competition.

The match at the Stade de France was prepared to what would become an intense match between two well qualified teams.  France arrived into the game with the pressure that receiving a single goal at home meant their World Cup dreams would fade.  They also understood that they needed to win at least 2-0 to take the game into over time.

Fortunately for ‘Les Bleus’, they were on their night, as the 3-0 victory gave them their pass into the World Cup.  The goals were scored by Mamadou Sakho in the 22th, Karim Benzema in the 34th, and Sakho once again in the 72th.

With their qualification, France becomes a real title contender for Brazil 2014.  The team has high caliber players, and with people like Frank Ribery in their ranks, this team could reach great lengths in the World Cup.  In the last day of UEFA World Cup qualifiers, along with France, other nations to have qualified into Brazil 2014 are Portugal, Greece, and Croatia.
