The Xolos vs Atletico Mineiro match was dominated by Tijuana, which looked close to earning a historic 2-0 victory against the Copa Libertadores’ favorite to win it all, A. Mineiro. Instead, two rare defensive mistakes by Xolos let Mineiro score twice, including a devastating 92nd minute goal.
The 2-2 draw means Xolos must defeat Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, or draw while scoring 2 goals or more. Unless Xolos can pull off the best game they have ever payed in their 6 year history, it looks like Xolos’ Cinderella run will end in the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals.
However, Xolos under Turco Mohamed’s reign has proven over and over that they can win away games. Xolos never gives up. Don’t count them out yet, Tijuana has a chance still, but it won’t be easy.
Enjoy the Xolos vs Atletico Mineiro highlights, it is surely Mohamed’s last match at the Estadio Caliente (even if Xolos moves on to the semifinals, a new coach will take over).
