The Fluminense vs Caracas Copa Libertadores 2013 match will be this Wednesday, February 13, 2013 (7:00 PM EDT) at the Estadio Olimpico in Venezuela.  Fluminense (BRA) and Caracas (VEN) will play their first game during the group stages of the Copa Libertadores 2013.  They are part of Group 8 which also includes Huachipato (CHI) and Gremio (BRA); the top two teams will advance to the final-16.

The reigning champions of the Brazilian league, Brasileirao, will visit the Venezuelan team, Caracas F.C. in their first contest of this year’s Copa Libertadores.  Fluminense will have to play without their star midfielder, Deco, but this is a squad with enough talent to leave Venezuela with the 3 points.

The team from Caracas is one of the most decorated teams in the history of Venezuela’s league.  They have appeared in 12 Copa Libertadores competitions, where in 2009 they had their best performance when they reached the quarterfinals.  On Wednesday they begin a difficult journey which has them as least favorites to qualify into the final-16 out of Group 8.

Fluminense will try to show why they were league champions in Brazil.  They face a team with a vast history in the Libertadores tournaments, but who also has never accomplished any titles.  Fluminense is the favorite in Wednesday’s game, and also in Group 8.  The Fluminense vs Caracas 2013 match will end 3-1 in favor of the visiting team.
