Liga MX Apertura 2012 Team by Team Analysis – Atlante

Source: Wikipedia

In the Clausura 2012, Atlante ended 14th in the regular season standings with 16 points well behind the teams in playoff positions.  With consecutive bad seasons Atlante has pushed itself deep into demotion trouble as they are now in 14th place with a 1.1471 percentage only above Puebla, Queretaro, Atlas, and newly promoted Leon.

Atlante’s greatest player addition to prepare for the Apertura 2012 of the new Liga MX was that of Chilean striker Esteban Paredes who played in Colo Colo.  Atlante had a decent offense with 20 goals therefore Paredes will add more to that line, however, its defense was the worst with 31 goals against while no major addition was signed to aid that part of the team.

Atlante is a regular team that will fight to be mid-table under newly signed coach Ricardo Antonio La Volpe.  This team has a defense that if La Volpe cannot control will lose many matches and push itself further into the demotion fight.
