This past, Saturday, March 5, 2022, the Liga MX saw one of its darkest and most violent days in its long and illustrious history. The game between Queretaro and Atlas turned into a blood bath between spectators like never before seen in Mexican soccer.

After this horrific event, the Liga MX and its team have tried to push a message of peace. For example, there is now a protocol, where in the 63rd minute of the game both teams playing meet in the middle of the pitch and join together and embrace for a moment of peace.

This Saturday, March 12, 2022, the “Superclasico” between Chivas and Club America will be played at the Estadio Akron. Both teams have a long storied rivalry that has involved some violent events between fans and players, but the Chivas front office has called for a peaceful “Clasico Nacional” after the events in Queretaro.

The front office has asked all fans in attendance to wear white as a symbol of peace for the Liga MX and between Chivas and America fans. All fans in attendance are also invited to ignite their cellphone flashlight in the 63rd minute of the match.

There will also be no supporters groups in attendance for this match as the usual section for the Chivas supporters group will be filled with children from the Jorge Vergara and Teleton foundations.

Chivas has been publishing pictures exclusively in black and white leading up to this match and has dubbed this movement the “Clasico sin colores”. (Clasico without colors)
