Monterrey had a hard-fought 2-1 win against Toluca and the game-winner was scored by 19-year-old midfielder Daniel Lajud in the 84th minute of the match. It was Lajud’s first-career Liga MX goal, but he was not the only player to accomplish this feat in Week 13.
Tigres’ Rafael Duran received a surprise start alongside Andre-Pierre Gignac against Pumas UNAM and the 21-year-old striker scored his first-career Liga MX goal as Tigres tied 3-3 in Mexico City.
