West Ham have been a different side under manager David Moyes since he took over from Slaven Bilic in November, winning 5, losing 5 and drawing 6 Premier League games thus far.

The Scot’s current deal ends by summer, and doubts still remain over whether he will get a contract extension.

While Moyes still wants to continue managing a club until the foreseeable future, the 54-year-old has revealed he’s open to managing a country, with working with Scotland a definite desire of his.

The former Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland boss revealed to talkSPORT when asked if he would welcome the chance to become his country’s manager in the future: “Definitely.

“I think if you look at the Scotland players who have come through the years and just to say you were involved with it and I would love to get the opportunity through time.

“But, for the moment, I enjoy the day to day involvement with the players. I’m very happy. We will discuss (his position at West Ham) at the end of the season.”

The Scottish national team has been without a manager since Gordon Strachan resigned from his position 4 months ago, and Moyes was one of the candidates linked with the job.

However, former Rangers boss Walter Smith was the closest to clinching the job, only to walk away from talking with the Scottish Football Association last minute.

Should West Ham fail to extend Moyes’ deal, he could be tempted to take the national team job if other offers don’t come his way.

Given how he has managed to turn the Hammers’ fortune around, however, it seems a new deal could be on the card.
