As per German publication SportBild, West Ham and Newcastle are both keen on making a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller at the end of the campaign.
Neither side could land a top hitman on a permanent basis last month, and they are now monitoring the 23-year-old Frenchman.
Inter Milan are also keen on Haller, but any interested buyer will have to part with at least £26million to have a chance to win the imminent battle for his signature.
The former FC Utrecht striker has followed up his impressive campaign of last summer, notching 12 goals and 3 assists in 23 games across all competitions this term.
The Hammers are badly in need of a consistent goalscorer, and Haller seems to fit the bill perfectly given his style of play.
However, it remains to be seen if they are willing to break their transfer record for someone unproven in the topflight.
Newcastle might be forced to continue their search for a striker if Leicester City loanee Islam Slimani fails to hit the ground running, and Haller could be the one to take them to the next level if he manages to once again replicate the form that saw him bag 41 goals in 82 Eredivisie appearances in England.
