Moyes reveals why out-of-favour man won’t be leaving before transfer deadline

Manchester City loanee Joe Hart has been linked with cutting short his West Ham loan deal in order to keep his World Cup chances alive.

The 30-year-old has sat out of the last 10 Premier League games due to Adrian’s error-free performances, and with the Hammers now out of the F.A Cup, it’s widely thought that his playing opportunities could be over.

However, manager David Moyes has claimed Hart isn’t leaving the London Stadium as he still has a chance of reclaiming the starting berth.

The Scot revealed prior to West Ham’s league clash against Crystal Palace on Tuesday: “You can talk as much as you like about it (cutting the deal short) but we’ve got no intentions.

“Adrian has got to be at his best in all the games. I’ve got tight competition. I’ve got England’s goalkeeper which will keep Adrian on his toes.

“That’s obvious. In a way I’m quite happy with that because I need the goalkeepers to play really well for us to win the games and stay away from the bottom end of the league.

“At every opportunity, when I think it is right, I will play Joe Hart.

“I will give Joe Hart an opportunity to show but I would never be disrespectful to Adrian in any way because Adrian has earned it by his performances.

“ At every opportunity I can, I will give Joe the opportunity to show he is still England’s best goalkeeper. I’ll try to do that. If Adrian in any way slips up then I’ve got Joe ready.”

Hart has seen action just 4 times since getting dropped, as the rule requires, against his parent club in early December.

He was number 1 under erstwhile boss Slaven Bilic, but calls to drop him to give Adrian, who particularly impressed in the 3-2 league cup away victory over Tottenham, had been on for a while.

West Ham are only 4 points off the relegation places, and with no room for mistakes, getting Hart back to the starting lineup will only be possible if Adrian gets injured or commits series of errors.
