Leeds reportedly won’t sign new striker this January

According to the Daily Express, Leeds United will not sign a new striker this January despite strong suggestions they are chasing Aston Villa outcast, Ross McCormack. The same report has been previously published by the Football Insider.

The Whites have already brought Adam Forshaw from Middlesbrough, Laurens De Bock from Club Brugge, Yosuke Ideguchi from Gamba Osaka, and Aapo Halme from HJK Helsinki for a total of £7 million, which emptied the budget.

Despite Thomas Christiansen’s desperate desire to bring a high-quality striker at Elland Road, it seems that the 44-year-old expert will have to rely on Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Kemar Roofe, and Jay-Roy Grot until the end of the season.

Some recent news has implied that Leeds could go after Ross McCormack as a potential low-cost solution after Steve Bruce expressed his determination to sell the 31-year-old striker.

However, as things stand, a new attacker will only arrive next summer.
