Wolves reportedly keen on Newcastle and West Ham stars

Wolves have reportedly been linked with moves for Newcastle attacker Yasin Ben El-Mhanni and West Ham defender Jose Fonte this month according to a report published by the Birmingham Mail.

Ben El-Mhanni is likely to leave the Magpies on a cut-price deal this month after launching claims over experiences of racism and bullying which he has experienced while at the club. The 22-year-old has been linked with the likes of Fenerbahce, Wolves and Brighton.

Newcastle are currently investigating claims made by Ben El-Mhanni which was supported by five other witnesses suggesting that Peter Beardsley abused him.

Fonte who only arrived at the Hammers last January is battling with Angelo Ogbonna, James Collins and Winston Reid for the centre-back position and a move to Wolves may boost his chances of making the Portugal squad that will travel to Russia for the 2018 World Cup.

Prior to the opening of the transfer window, Wolves boss Nuno indicated that only better players would be arriving at the club.

“We are very clear, we know exactly what we have to do,” Nuno said.

“We know which way we have to go and the decisions we’re going to make will be made with a lot of thinking time, a lot of consideration and a lot of dialogue knowing that we still have a long way to go, and we cannot make any kind of mistakes.

“When I say that, to come to the squad of Wolves in this moment he has to be something that gives us an increase of quality and different characteristics that we don’t have.

“The more important thing is to understand that in this moment the press comes with a lot of things and they are not real – and sometimes absurd.”
