James Vaughn has said that he made an easy decision in quitting Sunderland to join Wigan Athletic.
The Black Cats lost top scorer Lewis Grabban this month and Vaughn opted to follow suit by joining Wigan for a fee believed to be in the region of £300,000.
Sunderland signed the former Everton man from Bury during the summer for a fee in the region of £500,000 but he struggled to adapt to life in Wearside and went on to only score two goals for the club.
Vaughn has said that he made an easy decision in leaving Sunderland and joining Wigan, who are currently on top of the League One standings.
“This is a great club and the manager was very keen to get me here,” said Vaughan.
“When a manager tells you that you are his only target, and how much he wants to get the deal done, it’s an easy decision.”
