Aston Villa man makes it clear he wants to leave

Goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, who is currently playing for Atalanta on loan from Aston Villa, has revealed that he does not wish to return to Villa and wishes to remain at the Italian club for a long time.

After joining the Villains in 2016, Gollini was made first choice keeper under former manager Roberto Di Matteo.

However after Di Matteo was sacked and Steve Bruce was appointed, he was dropped down the pecking order at the club and eventually joined Atalanta on loan a year ago.

At Atalanta, Gollini has had to serve as cover for Etrit Berisha and he has only played six Serie A games during the past year.

However it seems that despite this, he is happy to have left Villa. When speaking about his struggles with Villa and future with Atalanta, he told TMW: “Yes, of course, this is why I hope to stay here in Bergamo for a long time.”
