Everton and West Ham handed boost with Celtic reportedly aiming £27million deal

Celtic vs Hearts

As per Daily Express, Celtic are ready to sanction the sales of star striker Moussa Dembele for £27million during the January transfer window, handing Premier League duo Everton and West Ham massive boost.

The French youth international hasn’t quite hit the high notes like he did last term, no thanks to injuries, and the Hoops are scared that his market value could nosedive if they keep him further than winter.

This is according to football insider Ian McGarry who recently revealed on The Transfer Window podcast that, “Moussa Dembele, I know from information and hearing different views on Dembele that Celtic will sell in January if they can.

“I think the reason for that is that Dembele is not the same hot property as he was this time last year. Or indeed this time six months ago in the summer when clubs were offering in excess of £20m for him and there was a queue.

“Dembele himself has obviously suffered some minor injuries and his form and goals have tailed off a bit.

“I think Celtic are making a business decision to market the player in this January window in the hope they can get – and I’m told it’s around £26m-£27m that the are looking for Moussa Dembele.

“I don’t think there are any takers at that cost yet, there is certainly interest from lower-half Premier League clubs who talent and potential like Dembele would be appealing to at that price.

“West Ham have an interest in him, Everton have an interest in him. And probably some others, strikers especially in the January window are very difficult to buy.

“They wanna make money from him, the think they are fairly well sorted for strikers for the rest of the season and so Dembele would be worth selling.

“The problem is finding a club willing to play the price they want and Dembele would be a risk for any club in the Premier League.”

Both the Toffees and Hammers are looking to strengthen their attack in January, and Dembele, with a lot to prove in England and ahead of the World Cup could be a great addition to either side.

Everton still want to replace Romelu Lukaku, while West Ham need a number 9 capable of scoring consistently given the struggles of Chicharito and Andy Carroll.

Dembele bagged 32 goals in 49 games across all competitions last term, and has proven what he’s capable of doing against European giants having found the back of the net against Manchester City and PSG in the Champions League.
