West Ham assistant manager Stuart Pearce has said that goalkeeper Joe Hart is determined to fight to regain his place after being demoted as first choice keeper for the Hammers.
Hart, who is hoping to represent England at the World Cup next year, was replaced by Adrian in goal for West Ham’s game against Manchester City last weekend as he was not eligible for the game as he is still under contract at City.
The Spaniard delivered a good performance and he was retained in goal when the Hammers faced off against Chelsea this weekend. Pearce has however insisted that the 30-year-old is not sulking and is taking things the right way.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Pearce said: “He [Hart] is disappointed that he hasn’t been playing. The nature of the game is if someone plays well they might keep the shirt. That is what has happened.
“If it is the goalkeeper we highlight it a lot more than an outfield player but Joe is acutely aware that he has to fight to get back in the team again and he will do that.”
