Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has taken a dig at Sunderland after the two clubs played out to a 0-0 draw on Saturday.
“I am disappointed because this is a not a victory, I’m not frustrated,” he said. “This is part of football. Victories are hard to achieve.
“We work hard to achieve that and the boys worked hard. There was only one team on the pitch trying to achieve three points and that was us.
“Our fans need to realise that we need them to keep pushing really hard right until the end. Games like this will happen again and we have to find solutions.
“I thought we created enough, the high standards will always be there and we are a team that wants to grow and improve. One of the things we have to contend with is nine men behind the ball not wanting to play football.
“I am not worried about the game plans of opponents, I will find solutions to mine. They didn’t stop us playing, we created. Things will be different.”
For Championship leaders Wolves, the game meant that they have lost out on a valuable two points. For the Black Cats who are aiming to avoid relegation, it however represents a creditable point.
Chris Coleman’s Sunderland side seemingly aimed to park the bus during the game and in the end they got the result that they had wanted.
Though the Black Cats remain in 23rd position on the standings, this is something that they can build on and will be a morale boost.
