Christiansen admits this tactical blunder cost Leeds against Wolves

Leeds fell to a heavy defeat on Wednesday night at the Molineux Stadium, as Wolverhampton Wanderers handed them a 4-1 drubbing.

A red card cost the Whites dearly, as the hosts capitalized on the man advantage to run riot.

Despite going down 2-nil at half time, Leeds threatened to mount a comeback by pulling one back when play resumed.

Unfortunately, Ronaldo Vieira’s dismissal 30 minutes from time ruined their chances, and manager Thomas Christiansen admitted post-game he should have withdrawn the teenage midfielder.

He revealed to Radio Yorkshire: “He has to learn from that. I have to learn from that. Perhaps I should have changed him. I have to take my responsibility also.”

Vieira picked up a booking during the first-half, and was walking on a disciplinary tightrope afterwards due to Wolves’ dominance all-game.

Leeds face Barnsley on Saturday afternoon and will be looking to pick up vital point(s) in order to keep their promotion ambitions alive.

Having seen a costly tactical gamble kill off his side’s chances of getting a point against the league leaders, the manager will be careful about his in-game decisions going forward.
