West Ham was rejected by former England national team manager

According to a report published by Football London, former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce rejected the chance to return to West Ham following the departure of Slaven Bilic earlier in the month.

The Hammers eventually ended up appointing David Moyes as their new manager; however it now turns out that the former Everton and Manchester United boss was not their first choice.

Allardyce, who has a good reputation for helping clubs avoid the drop, was asked to become manager of the Hammers until the end of the season – however he rejected the chance.

The 63-year-old Allardyce had a previous spell with the Hammers which was successful. He led the club from the Championship to the Premier League and helped to establish them as a highly respected force in the top flight.

It remains to be seen what lies ahead for Allardyce. He has been linked with the managerial vacancies at West Brom as well as the United States national team.
