Rangers star makes shocking admission signifying club’s problems are beyond a manager

Rangers failed in their attempt to record 3 consecutive victories in almost a year after suffering an embarrassing 2-nil defeat to Hamilton on Saturday.

The result dealt a huge blow on the chances of interim manager Graeme Murty becoming the Gers permanent boss.

However, Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack believes Murty isn’t to be blamed for the loss, claiming the players instead deserve to shoulder full responsibility.

The 25-year-old reacted on Sunday to the result thus: “It was nothing to do with not having a manager – it’s to do with us on the pitch, the players. It’s totally our responsibility.

“Last week in training was the best we’ve had this season in terms of intensity and having a spring in our step.

“It’s important that next week in training we stick with each other, get that spring back in our step, and come out fighting at Dundee.”

Murty, Pedro Caixinha, Derek McInnes or not, it is obvious the Rangers players can’t perform up to expectations on a consistent basis, regardless of who the manager is.

The tactics and boss aren’t the problems, but a bunch of players not able to deliver more than their talents can.

If the Ibrox outfit are indeed serious about bringing back the glory of the yesteryears, they have to invest massively in recruiting quality players.

Given the current crop of cheap players they continue to buy, not even a Pep Guardiola will be able to make them beat Celtic.
