Leeds star reveals what Christiansen must do to get the best out of him

Leeds have since run out of steam despite a very impressive start to 2017-18.

The Whites have lost 6 of their last 7 league games and are now 10th on the Championship table, 3 points adrift the playoffs places.

Both manager Thomas Christiansen and the players have come under criticism for the side’s dip in form, and things must improve after the international break if they are to have a chance of playing Premier League football next term.

Leeds current best player Samuel Saiz believes playing him in the proper position would help the team out, and the manager indeed has to make necessary tweaks to his side on time.

The Spanish midfielder has 8 goals and 3 assists in 16 games across all competitions for Leeds since arriving Elland Road from Huesca during the summer.

Earlier in the campaign, Saiz was deployed behind the striker in a number 10 role.

However, the 26-year-old has been made to play out wide of recent as a result of a change in formation.

This has limited his creativity and ability to influence the game.

Saiz recently told Spanish publication Marca of his playing style and preference: “I’m not a big guy, I’m a very cheeky player, I’m not afraid, I always try to do what comes to mind , I’d say I’m very colourful, my game is quite vertical, I always look forward.

“On the left wing getting in, with freedom, but I prefer to play as a playmaker: you participate more in the game.”

Leeds face Middlesbrough after the break, and Christiansen will do well to deploy his most important player in a position best suited for his skill set.
