West Ham wasted no time in replacing Slaven Bilic with David Moyes, with the Scot unveiled as the Hammers new manager just a day after the Croatian was shown the exit door.
However, the former Sunderland boss isn’t popular with the fans, with his disappointing spells at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and the Black Cats a cause for concern.
Nevertheless, former Hammers manager Sam Allardyce believes Moyes has every chance to succeed at the London Stadium – a notion he has the next 6 months to prove.
Big Sam said of the former Everton boss: “I do think he will be a success because they have got a good squad.
“He needs to pull that squad together and make it function in a way Slaven unfortunately couldn’t do.
“David has got he drive, he has got the desire, to show everybody he can get back to what he was like in his Everton days.
“He has had a couple of disappointments, particularly at Sunderland last season, so I think he is hungry and I think he will sort these players out and get them functioning and winning football matches.”
West Ham are currently 18th on the log having won just 2 of 13 rounds of league games.
They face Watford, Leicester City and Everton after the break before tough clashes against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Failing to pick up less than 8 points in the 6 games could see Moyes come under early pressure, and results from the 10 league fixtures left in 2017 could go a long way in determining his short-term future on the West Ham hot seat.
