Ex-EPL Manager of the season emerges as shock contender for Rangers job

According to the Daily Mail, former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has emerged as a contender for the Rangers job after Pedro Caixinha was relieved of his duties last Friday.

The Premier League Manager of the Season for the 2011-12 season while at Newcastle has been out of job since last December, and although he recently rejected an offer from Dynamo Kiev as the English topflight remains his preference, his representatives have been in touch with Rangers.

The 56-year-old led the Magpies to a 5th place finish in 2012, helped return West Ham to the EPL in 2005, while also reaching the F.A Cup final with the Hammers and Palace.

Pardew is currently a Sky Sports pundit, and has got the experience and know-how needed to make Rangers a force to reckon with in Scottish football once again.

Former Gers interim boss Graeme Murty is in temporary charge of the club, with the likes of Derek McInnes, Sam Allardyce, Alex McLeish and Michel Preud’homme all linked with the job.
