Leeds’ most recent defeat – last weekend’s 1-nil loss to Reading, has seen many question the selection process of manager Thomas Christiansen.
The Whites were outplayed and outsmarted by an opponent for the 3rd game running, and there are growing demands for changes to the Spaniard’s lineup ahead of weekend’s visit to Bristol City.
Against the Royals, Leeds had a chance to share the spoils after they were awarded a penalty towards the end of the clash.
However, Pablo Hernandez saw his efforts saved, and BBC Radio Leeds matchday co-commentator Noel Whelan claims the Spaniard should have been hauled off before even having the opportunity to play the important spot kick.
Kemar Roofe was withdrawn 20 minutes from time, with Hadi Sacko taking his place on the right wing, and Whelan claimed to have been bemused by the substitution decision.
Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, the former Whites striker said: “As a spectator, I felt Roofe was probably the best player in the first 45 minutes, trying, tracking back, running hard, and when the substitution was happening.
“I was very surprised because he actually put more into the game and had more quality and was probably a little bit more of a player that we needed out there than Hernandez.”
The manager will be hoping to arrest a run of 3 straight defeats on Saturday in order to get Leeds promotion ambitions back on track.
