Jason Tavernier has admitted that he agrees with Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha that Ross McCrorie is a special talent.
McCrorie made his bow with the Gers this weekend during their 2-0 defeat against traditional rivals Celtic. Despite being on the losing side, the 19-year-old produced an impressive display.
Caixinha is a huge fan of the youngster and last week announced that he would cherish using him as a stand-in for the injured Bruno Alves.
McCorie was filling in for Alves on the day after the veteran suffered a calf tear during his clubs Betfred Cup win over Thistle.
Following the game, Tavernier said of McCorie, “I thought young Ross had a cracking game for his first Old Firm. He didn’t look out of place.
“Ross works hard in training and did really well in the pre-season games and coming on against Partick. Today he showed great signs of being a promising young player. As long as he keeps his head down and works hard, he’ll be a cracking centre back.”
