Football pundit Alan Pardew has said that he believes that Serge Aurier owes his Tottenham team-mates an apology after being sent off during the North London club’s 3-2 victory over West Ham on Saturday.
In only his first Premier League game for Spurs, Aurier was given his marching orders following two challenges on Andy Carroll.
This will be especially disappointing to the Spurs hierarchy as well as fans considering that the player arrived with a bad reputation from former club PSG and would have been expected to make an improvement.
Spurs were comfortably 3-1 ahead at the time during which Aurier was sent off. The Hammers then managed to get back into the game following the dismissal and brought the score to 3-2 after Cheikhou Kouyate scored from a header.
Following the game, Pardew stated that he believes that Aurier owes his team-mates an apology by saying, “The game is won – West Ham got a goal back – but it’s done and then Aurier gets an awful sending off.
“He owes an apology to the team and an apology to the manager. If I was the manager I wouldn’t be looking at him for three days, he best keep out of my way until Thursday.
“Jamie [Redknapp] called it during the first half that this guy would get sent off. If I was the manager on the sideline I would have taken him off before the booking.”
