Rangers boss not nervous ahead of Celtic clash despite injury crisis

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has revealed that he is not nervous about playing teenage defender Ross McCorie during Saturday’s Old Firm derby against Celtic following injuries to Bruno Alves and Declan John.

Alves and McCorie sustained muscle strains during the club’s Betfred Cup quarter-final win over Partick Thistle.

Not only are Celtic a better team on paper but they will also have an advantage in terms of morale given that the Gers are likely to be without Alves, John as well as captain Lee Wallace for the clash.

Despite the daunting task which his club could face against the Hoops this weekend, Caixinha praised the young McCorie and added that he feels that the player will go on to become a great of Scottish football.

He said, “Ross McCrorie is going to be one of the best centre halves in history, not just for this club but for this country. You just need to see what he did. He was brilliant. It’s not about age or names. It’s about getting the chance to prove it.”
