Former PFA Young Player of the Year reportedly desires January West Ham move

West Ham have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, with the Daily Star claiming the Hammers’ summer target is eyeing a London Stadium switch come winter in order to save his career.

The 25-year-old has yet to taste Premier League action this term despite being fit, and it’s looking unlikely that the North London club will extend his contract beyond the end of this term.

West Ham were keen on landing Wilshere during the summer transfer, but Arsenal’s £20million asking price pushed them back, with concerns over the fitness of the midfielder also a stumbling block.

The England international continues to play in the Premier League 2, and should see a lot of action in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Wilshere is hoping to impress in the competitions in order to convince West Ham to return for him, with his eyes set on a spot in England’s World Cup squad.

Considering his quality, he could make a fine addition to a Hammers midfield that could do with a lot of creativity at the moment.

The 2010-11 PFA Young Player of the Year has also managed to keep fit in the last couple of months, so West Ham’s worries on that front might have been allayed.
