Former Everton star Phil Neville has said that Harry Kane may have to leave Tottenham in order to truly establish himself as a world class player.
The England international Kane has arguably become one of the best strikers in World football as he finished as the Premier League’s top goal scorer during the past two seasons.
The 24-year-old Kane will be looking to win another golden boot award this season and will hope to guide Spurs to the League title after they narrowly missed out during the past two years.
Kane is a youth product of the Spurs academy and it will be hard to see him leaving the club soon due to the connection that he shares with it.
However, Manchester United and Chelsea are two clubs who are said to be interested in the player and should Spurs fail to win major silverware over the coming years, he may just be tempted to move.
Now whilst talking about Kane, Neville echoed this sentiment by telling BBC Radio Five Live as reported by The Metro, “He could have to leave Spurs to become that real top, top, world class [Robert] Lewandowski type player, he could.
“Because if Spurs maintain just being a top four team, that will not be good enough for somebody like Harry Kane.I think he needs to be challenging for Ballond’Ors.
“I think he needs to be challenging for Champions Leagues and if Spurs are always going to be that ‘nearly’ team, eventually he will want to leave and join a Real Madrid or Barcelona.”
