The future of West Ham manager Slaven Bilic at the London club remains firmly in doubt regardless of the outcome of Monday’s game against Huddersfield Town.
From Newcastle’s Rafa Benitez to Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri, a couple of managers have been linked with the Hammers top job should it become available.
Fulham’s Slavisa Jokanovic, who was tipped by some at the end of last campaign to take over, is also being thrown into the mix.
However, an option that would interest Hammers fans the most is former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
West Ham News believes the Premier League title-winning could be considered, while David Wagner, Monday night opponent’s boss was also mentioned.
Mancini agreed an initial 3-year contract with an option of a 2-year extension with Russian giants Zenit Saint Petersburg in June, though, so it’s not likely that the 52-year-old Italian tactician would be changing jobs anytime soon.
If there is a manager that can take West Ham to the next level, it’s the former Inter Milan boss.
Mancini’s pedigree and influence will also go a long way in attracting top talents to the London Stadium if the management somehow manages to land him. Now, or in the future.
Bilic remains a fine manager, but failing to get the club playing at the level they did 2 seasons ago could mean it’s time for a change.
Mancini could prove to be exactly just what West Ham need, but getting him right away appears somewhat impossible.
