Asont Villa reportedly could get major revenue boost

Aston Villa FC could be set for a major boost in revenue via a major expansion of their already relatively large stadium in the near future, according to reports.

The Nottingham Post states that the club are considering adding 17,000 seats to the capacity to take it above 60,000 seats.

This would put them in a rare club in England alongside the likes of Manchester United, West Ham, and Arsenal as the only sides in England with permanent stadiums of that capacity or higher.

However, the expansion does come with a big IF. That if hinges on whether or not Aston Villa can clinch promotion from the Championship this season. After five matches, it’s looking doubtful, but there are still 41 long, arduous rounds left to play.

This move, if and when it happens, could be just the ticket to making Villa a much bigger side than they currently are, and it could give them the extra revenue needed to chase Europe’s elite.
