Three Things we learned as Leeds United remain unbeaten

The Championship season has gotten off to a flying start for Leeds United thus far. Five matches have come, and three wins and two draws have occurred so far.

On Saturday, they made sure of that stat by winning away to Nottingham Forest by a score of two to nil. Here are three things from the match:

Roofe there it is

Who is that Wood guy again? After three goals in midweek action in the cup, Kemar Roofe once again stepped up and took the game by the scruff of the neck to give Leeds United a victory in the Championship.

The winger-turned-striker netted after 24 minutes with what could only be called a predatory header. The placement was perfect, the run was better, and the elation was even better. Roofe is showing that the Whites have a definite edge to them, even without Wood.

Alioski to the fore again

A goal up after 80+ minutes would see most sides back it in and call it a day and hope to scrap it out. That’s just not the case with this Leeds side, as Ezgjan Alioski once again decided to take matters into his hands to doubly ensure the points were headed their way.

His strike, a hard drive into the lower right hand corner to the goalkeeper, was impossible to keep out and it sent the away crowd into delirium.

Leeds in a great spot

The Whites came into this match in decent position, but they made it even better with victory. Nottingham Forest have improved a lot as well, as they are under their manager for a first full season now, and they are still in the top six currently after defeat.

So the win was a double victory for Leeds as they also leapfrogged a rival. They are setting themselves up very well as they head into the international break. This break should only make them stronger as they can come together and train while growing together even more.
