Leeds United reportedly keen on experienced Premier League winger to replace attacker

Leeds have entered talks with Crystal Palace over a possible temporary or permanent deal to bring out-of-favour winger Jordon Mutch to Elland Road, reports The Sun.

Having terminated the contract of Senegalese forward Souleymane Doukara by mutual consent, and with Chris Wood also gone to Burnley, the Whites are in very dire need of attacking reinforcements.

Boss Thomas Christiansen reckons Mutch, 25, would be a great addition considering his ample Championship and Premier League experiences, and hopes he could be snapped up for a cut-price £2million.

The English winger isn’t in the first team plans of new Palace boss Frank de Boer having spent the latter half of last term on loan at Reading.

The Eagles are keen to let Mutch go, but would love to have more than Leeds’ offer having spent £4.7million to bring him in from Queens Park Rangers in January 2015.

Christiansen has been tasked with taking Leeds back to the topflight, and with over 173 league appearances to his name, Mutch is a quality material that could help form a solid squad capable of challenging for Premier League promotion this term.

With a season-long loan deal also being considered, including an option to make the transfer permanent next season, landing the former Birmingham City, Cardiff City and Queens Park Rangers could go a long way in boosting Leeds’s campaign.
