According to The Sun, Tottenham have registered interest in acquiring the services of Fenerbahce teenage defensive midfielder Oguz Kagan Guctekin.
However, they would have part with a lot of cash for a boy yet to make his senior team debut, while also attempting to beat Manchester City and Arsenal to his signature.
The former has already seen a £4.5million offer for the 18-year-old knocked back, with the president of the Super Lig heavyweights Aziz Yildirim claiming regular football assurances had been given to Guctekin this term.
The number 8 prodigy just put pen to paper for a first pro contract with the Turkish giants last summer, but is already attracting the big wigs due to his talents.
Tottenham obviously won’t have Guctekin become a key member of their starting XI anytime soon were he to be snapped up, but his playing style and potential mean he could be competing for playing minutes within a short while.
Asides being an orthodox holding midfielder, Guctekin can also operate as a centre-back or even as a left-back should need be.
Such is the versatility and proficiency of this whizkid and Jack of all trades, and it’s one of the reasons English powerhouses have eyes on him.
The Turkish youngster definitely has a very bright future ahead, and could become a key player for Spurs going forward.
However, prising him away from Fenerbahce would come at a huge cost with the club determined to hold on dearly to their gem.
