Former West Ham star slams the Hammers

Former West Ham midfielder Stewart Robson has blasted his former club and claimed that it is not being run properly.

The Hammers endured a poor season last term and ended up finishing in eleventh place. They started the new season on a disappointing note after being thrashed 4-0 by Manchester United last weekend and have lost their second game against Southampton on Saturday 3-2.

Manager Slaven Bilic has just a year left on his current contract with the Hammers and should results not improve soon, it is likely that he will not be offered a new contract. Many fans of the club did call for the Croatian to be sacked last season when they flirted with relegation.

Robson has now gone on to blast the Hammers by stating that there has been a lack of professionalism at the club since his playing days which has impacted team affairs negatively.

He said, “I played at West Ham and I went from a professional environment at Arsenal to West Ham who had just come third in the league (1985-86 season) and the players did what they wanted to, the players were running the club.

“And it got no better because two years later they were relegated and I think that’s been the same for West Ham year after year. It’s a very, very good club but it’s not being run properly and it’s never had that real professionalism that’s made it a top, top club.”
