Leeds United reportedly eye 25-year-old as potential replacement for Wood

Leeds United keep stalling on Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s transfer due to the high price that Hamburg demand for striker.

According to Hamburger Abendblatt, the Whites are looking for a bargain price for the 25-year-old striker.

Leeds will be planning to sign a replacement for Chris Wood if Burnley’s transfer move for the Kiwi international proves successful and the Whites want to sign Lasogga for around €900k as a replacement.

Lassoga has made 107 appearances for the German club, scoring 30 goals. He currently earns €3.4m annually at Hamburg, which is one of the chief reasons for the club trying to palm him off this summer.

Leeds United are not ready to meet such a high wage demands. Even if Hamburg relents and agrees to loan Lassoga for the season on a subsidized rate, it seems that the wages would not be anywhere near the amount that the Whites have in mind.

Nonetheless Hamburg is keeping its transfer offer open, in case Leeds decide to compromise after all.
