Rangers appeal controversial decision

Rangers have submitted an appeal against the red card which Ryan Jack received against Hibernian during the weekend.

The past weekend saw six players sent off in the Scottish Premiership and it has been confirmed that Rangers as well as Motherwell and Hearts have all lodged complaints.

Jack received his marching orders from referee John Beaton after appearing to move his head towards Hibs forward Anthony Stokes.

Hearts have challenged the red card which was handed to Isma Goncalves. Goncalves received his marching orders for appearing to engage in violent conduct with Kilmarnock defender Kirk Broadfoot and this resulted in red cards for both players.

Motherwell meanwhile have launched appeals for the red cards which their goalkeeper Trevor Carson and defender Charles Dunne received during their 4-1 defeat against St Johnstone.

While Carl McHugh also received his marching orders, they chose not to appeal that decision.  It remains to be seen what the outcomes of the cases will be.
