West Ham makes worrying admission about his side’s confidence

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has admitted that his sides 4-0 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday is a blow to his side’s confidence.

United completed the thrashing through a brace from new striker Romelu Lukaku and further goals from Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba.

The Hammers would have certainly expected a better performance from themselves and this is certainly not a good way to start the Premiership.

A disappointed Bilic said after the game, “They were much better than us in every department – better without the ball, better with the ball. If you give them time and space in those pockets they are lethal and they showed that.

“It shouldn’t affect our confidence, although it will. We are very low at the moment. The players feel bad. It is our obligation to pick up ourselves and prepare for the second game of the season against Southampton.”

Prior to the game, Javier Hernandez, who was making his Premier League debut for the East London club, was given a good reception by the fans. The same was not done for Joe Hart, who was also making his debut for the club, after arriving on loan from Manchester City.
