Leeds United reportedly give their response to £12million offer for star man

According to reports, Leeds United have rejected a £12 million offer from Premier League club Burnley for striker Chris Wood.

The New Zealand international Wood netted 27 goals in the Championship last season, finishing as the League’s top goal scorer and now Burnley are looking to sign him to replace Andre Gray.

His form from the past season reportedly also attracted the interest of West Ham and Stoke though Leeds are looking to keep him in their squad as they look to launch a Premier League promotion push this season.

He also has exceptional leadership qualities and served as captain of the New Zealand national team during the Confederations Cup which was held this summer.

Wood is now 25 years of age and he will surely be feeling an urge to play in the top flight and score goals against some big clubs.

Leeds may be able to keep him for this season, but should they fail to win promotion; it will be very difficult to see them retaining the services of the striker.
