West Ham star suffers another injury blow

West Ham striker Andy Carroll is likely to miss the first month of next season as he continues his recovery from thigh injury, according to the Daily Mirror.

This will mean that he is set to miss the first three matches of the upcoming campaign. The 28-year-old Carroll is now only expected to make his comeback against Premier League newcomers Huddersfield, which is a few weeks after the start of the Premier League season.

The Hammers missed Carroll for parts of last season and this was cited as a reason why the club churned out disappointing performances, ending up finishing 11th on the League standings.

This season however, manager Slaven Bilic will also have the likes of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic to rely upon for goals when Carroll is not around.

After arriving at the London Stadium for £25 million, Arnautovic went on to net his first goal for the club as he scored during his team’s 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen during the weekend.

Toni Martinez scored the other goal for the East London club, while Luca Caldirola and Yuning Zhang were on target for Bremen.
