According to reports, Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has made bolstering his side’s defence a priority ahead of next season.
The Whites are expected to be without the services of Pontus Jansson for the upcoming Championship campaign.
The departure of Kyle Bartley to parent club Swansea means that the only experienced defenders that Christiansen will have at his disposal are Jansson and Liam Cooper.
Christiansen has now admitted that strengthening his defence ahead of next season is now a priority, saying, “We have been working to try and do the best signings that we can across the whole team. But defence is a priority now, that is obvious.”
The Yorkshire giants are currently in Austria as part of their pre-season preparations. Leeds have been active this summer in the transfer market, with the recent arrivals of Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski taking the tally of the players they have signed this summer to seven.
