Sunderland and Middlesbrough reportedly both keen on Leeds star

After a move to sign young goalkeeper Felix Wiedewald from Werder Bremen last week, Leeds United might be ready to move former England number one Rob Green.

The former World Cup starter, an infamous one at that, has been a solid veteran for some years now. But it appears that the Whites will have no use for him other than to use him as a backup now that the German has come in.

And according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, he could be set to move to either Middlesbrough or Sunderland as both of those sides are looking for goalkeepers now.

Middlesbrough have lost Brad Guzan and Victor Valdes, while Sunderland have seen Jordan Pickford leave for Everton for big money. That allows both a chance to bring Green in for a relatively low price for a season or two, and to hopefully gain quick promotion back to the Premier League.

This looks a good move for all involved, as Leeds will not want to get in the way of the veteran and will want to see their new goalkeeper have plenty of confidence ahead of the new season.
