Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has spoken out about his future amid speculation that Everton will submit a £20 million bid for him.
Giroud was given limited playing time by Arsene Wenger last season being used mainly off the bench and he may fall further down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium given that the Gunners are expected to soon complete a £44 million move for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.
The Toffees see the 30-year-old Giroud as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to depart Goodison Park.
Giroud has however admitted that he wishes to remain with the Gunners and wants to win the Premier League title with the club.
He said, “I won a few titles in my career, that is an important thing, but there is another thing which is important for me. And that’s the people [see you as a] loyal warrior on the pitch – that you always give your best for the team.
“And that’s why I want to carry on my good journey at Arsenal and I always want to give my best. I would love to win another title, or maybe more until the end of my contract. The motivation is here, always doing your best to make your family proud.”
