Aston Villa reportedly place £9million asking price on star

According to The Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa has reportedly rejected a £5.3 million offer from Spanish side Sevilla for their defender Jordan Amavi.

As the reports are saying, Aston Villa wants around £9 million for the player, who has been placed openly on a transfer list and several clubs have already shown an interest in signing the French player.

Liverpool has been connected with rumors around Amavi, but other high-profile clubs, such as Sampdoria and Marseille, have also put the 23-year-old on their wish list.

Amavi joined the claret and blue team in a transfer from Nice two years ago, in a deal worth £9 million, and it is evident that Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia does not want to endure financial losses on the player in question.

According to some reports, Xia has already rejected a £25-million offer for Amavi in January 2017, with an explanation that the player will “grow bigger” if he stays in Birmingham.
