Tottenham reportedly need to move soon in order to sign 22-year-old

Pochettino

According to Bleacher Report, the Spurs have a deadline set if they want to keep Pau Lopez, a promising Spanish keeper who is currently on loan at the club from Espanyol.

Unless Tottenham offers him a permanent deal, Lopez could return to his parent club and, therefore – his episode in England could be over before it even started. Lopez never actually got the chance to start a first-team game for Tottenham last season.

Tottenham could buy him for £6.2 million on the basis of a clause in his contract, but Espanyol chief executive Ramon Robert says that they would be happy to have their boy back.

Even though manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly holds Pau Lopez in high regard, it is obvious that Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm are higher in the pecking order.

Both of them have signed an extension to their contracts at the end of last year, and this means that Lopez would be the third-choice option if he decides to stay at North London.
