Grant Hanley’s proposed move from Newcastle to Derby is now in doubt after the Rams completed the signing of Curtis Davies from Hull City.
After failing to gain regular game time this past season for the Magpies, Hanley was informed that he is free to leave the club and Derby expressed an interest in signing him after being informed by Newcastle that they could do so.
Hanley is searching for a club that can offer him regular game time and should he may not get regular game time at Derby after they managed to sign Davies.
Following his move to the Rams, Davies said, “I believe that, at my age, people start thinking that you want to wind down and look for a bit of security but that is not the case with me; if I’d have wanted that, I would have stayed at Hull.”
Along with the likes of Henri Saivet, Massadio Haidara, Achraf Lazaar and Emmanuel Riviere, Hanley is likely to be offloaded by Newcastle this summer as the club rebuilds for the Premier League next season.
