According to reports, Brighton and Hove Albion have overtaken West Ham in the race to sign Ludogorets forward Jonathan Cafu. Cafu joined Ludogorets in 2015 for £1.5 million after spending the previous years at various clubs in Brazil.
The form of the 25-year-old Cafu at Ludogorets has been impressive and he has scored 22 goals and recorded 14 assists during 70 first team appearances for his club in all competitions.
West Ham reportedly held talks with Lodogorets over signing Cafu in May though it is believed that the East London club have yet to follow up on the negotiations.
Brighton have now come ahead the Hammers in the race to sign Cafu and are reportedly in talks discussing a transfer fee for the player. The Seagulls are said to be unhappy with the players release clause fee of £10.4 million though and are in talks for it to be reduced.
