Tottenham left-back Danny Rose picked up a knee injury during the Lilywhites’ clash with Sunderland on Tuesday, leaving him out for a month, according to The Sun.
David Moyes’ Sunderland side kept their nerve and picked up a vital point against highly rated Tottenham, who currently sit in 2nd place and look to challenge favorites Chelsea.
Tottenham so far have not confirmed the length of the injury to their star left-back yet, as Rose is set to undergo analysis soon. Gaffer Mauricio Pochettino isn’t too worried it seems, as he gave a hopeful reaction to the Hotspurs’ website towards Rose’s injury after the Sunderland clash:
“We hope it’s not a big issue but he felt in a tackle that he twisted his knee. We’ll see tomorrow [Wednesday].”
Danny Rose may well be the crucial factor in giving Tottenham their recent string of solid performances, going unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League fixtures. The Englishman has currently picked up 7 clean sheets along with 2 goals and 2 assist in 18 matches for Spurs this season. However, he’s also been handed the most yellow cards out of the whole squad with 8 so far, according to Opta Stats.
With this injury, he could well miss not only their home match against Middlesbrough but both their away match at Liverpool and their Europa League game against Belgian side AA Gent.
